I do not fish for trout so I must say I have had a hard time following this page so far this season. Just wondering how many of you fish for Bass? I'm patiently waiting for a few Bass conversations or reports.

I personally am up to 69 Bass for the season so far and it's hardly begun. The crappy weekend weather has been keeping me mostly to pond fishing but I've had the boat out a couple of times so far on Blue Marsh. I'm just waiting for a non-rainy day to get out again on the lake. We need some sun to keep warming the water so those Bass keep getting more active. I don't mind fishing in the rain during the summer months, but these cool temps and wind on the weekends is keeping me off the boat. When I was a few years younger I would fish in any weather; as I get a little older that is starting to change just a little bit.

But seriously; can we start talking about Bass on this forum? Anybody...............? I can;t believe that every member on here fishes for trout. Where are the Bass fisherman on this page?

I fish for anything that bites. Just this past weekend caught some smallmouth with some fat belly. Thinking they are females with eggs still so they must be staging up already. I give them a chance to spawn them get them in more of the middle of summer. Right now the water is still cool enough to get those toothy critters.

I haven't fished for trout in over 10 years. Once bass season comes in and the bass tournament starts, things will pick up. There's a few of us bass guys on here, but we're clearly outnumbered.

I'm not causing trouble and please don't take offense. But. I disagree with the above statement. Some of us fish for multiple species. I never understood a one species fisherman. Rubber worms,Jigs, spinners are all being used for trout, all things used for bass although a different application. Why only a bass guy? Why the flyfishing snob? We are all on the same team. Plus maybe you have missed it but Charles post things all the time. I didn't see any response from frogman

Bass thread2017: last 5 threads frogman and fishballer have not contributed at all. So I would say people do talk about bass on here.

I used to alot but then i picked up the fly rod and started fishing more moving water,My large mouth numbers have fallen but my small mouth fishing has gone through the roof. Still have lots of gear and like to rip buzz and spinner baits during the summer.

I fish for anything that bites. Right now trout are in season. The stockies have been stocked in all the lakes and streams, and the wild trout and natives are active. Once bass officially opens in June the trout will be gone from many of the lakes. The summer tourney will start and we will all be fishing for bass, panfish, toothies, and catfish.

Last year I spent most of my fishing time trying to tempt big bass in a little local lake. I even posted a picture of some big ones in the water that wouldn't bite anything I threw.

I fish for trout because it's easy, initially then they turn off to metal and I tire and turn onto other species. I fish for everything from Bluegills to Bluefish. Smallies to Salt Water Stripers. Bass of any kind is a favorite but so is anything of any size that wants to bite.

Trout time is over for us now it's Pickerel, Perch, Bass or what ever else wants to attack a plastic worm or spinner. Catch and release them all.

I''m in the same place as you. I primarily bass fish. Soon stripers and walleyes will have my attention for a couple weeks. Recent weather sux. I fish mainly Wallenpaupack and spend time on Harveys lake too. I haven't had what I would call a good trip yet but missed the past two weeks to commitments and crappy weather. Got to a couple early tournaments but only moderate success.

    Welcome to the forum!!!

I'm definitely a bass guy!!! I enjoy the thrill of a good fight but I'm mostly geared towards bass. I'm new to PA and this forum. I don't know how many bass I have caught this year yet but I have done ok for myself. If you ever want to hit the lake together I'm game.

Can't get the quotes right, but there it is. You can legally fish for bass right now as long as you return them immediately. You cannot cast directly to bass on their redds.

HAHA! Funny stuff.......just because I haven't replied does not mean that I have not read the posts. I am on this site every day reading posts; I just do not feel as though I need to reply to every post just to see my name on the screen. As far as not understanding a one species fisherman; to each his own. I like fishing for Bass; so I fish for Bass. So if we are all on the same team why criticize me for only fishing for Bass?? I did not state that I don't understand why guys fish for trout; I simply stated I do not fish for them. And if you notice; Charles and I have had some great lengthy conversations on this site; I am sure Charles would agree. I only reply to threads that I feel as though I can contribute to; as an example.......the one post on hard body swim baits.......I don't use hard body swimbaits so why post and pretend I know anything about them? So; we are all on the same team.....sounds like you're trying to isolate me from the team, haha.

I know there are plenty of Bass guys out there, my post was to get these guys talking; as I know I am not the only one that's been fishing for bass so far this season. My post was not meant as a witch hunt to find out who posts and who doesn't post but thank you for trying to turn it into one, haha! Good stuff! Please don't tell my Mom that I haven't replied to posts on swimbaits and making your own Senko's etc. Not trying to be a smart a$$ but your reply to my post just kind of made me feel that way!

1-on the same team? You isolated yourself with the title of your thread

2-if you don't reply to bass fishing threads and then complain that nobody talks about bass fishing? Really ?

3-mom comment?= not trying to be an a$$. Well we might disagree

4- when someone comes on here and doesn't comment = internet troll

5- this is a forum. Without posters this site is dead. Labeling them as guys that like to see their name on the screen. Please grow up.

6- nowhere did I criticize you for fishing for bass solely. I asked why just a one trick pony. You in your thread post was critical about the content of this forum. I did criticize you for your complaining of the content of this site.

7- PAFISHERMAN SON CAUGHT HIS PB BASS AND YOU CANT TELL HIM CONGRATS????????! YOU ARE OUT OF LINE!!!! THATS A VIOLATION!!!!!!!!!

    8- Stop whining bottom line.

    Mr A-5,

It's all good, apparently we are in a disagreement here so all I will say is that I feel as though this page and myself are not a good fit for each other. I'm not real keen on this page and apparently it's not real keen on me either; it happens.

I wish this page the best of luck as there are a lot of folks on here that seem to know each other quite well; which is cool. In all honesty I have felt like an outsider on this page for a long time; I think I am not a good fit for this page nor is it a good fit for me. If anyone wants to talk about mostly Bass fishing please sign up for the Gordons Forum. At this time I will ask the Admin. to please remove my account from the page since there is no option for me to do so.

Internet Troll......good one. Mr. A-5; you'd be amazed at my credentials in the Bass Fishing world if you actually knew them. I have been a published writer for many years for numerous national publications but have always tried to remain anonymous on these pages. So an internet troll; certainly not......believe it or not; I know a heck of a lot about Bass Fishing and have always added comments on subjects where I felt as though I could contribute. Again; if I do not know or have no input on a topic I am not going to say that I do know something about it. I know zero about trout fishing; so I have never posted on a trout fishing topic.

If I have "violated" for being out of line; PLEASE...... delete my account immediately! Thank you!
